چکیده
IntroductionIndividuals with migraine have a high prevalence of vestibular symptoms, such as dizziness and balance deficits. The presence aura frequency attacks are associated an increased risk these symptoms. Vestibular is subtype described in the appendix International Classification Headache Disorders (ICHD-III) along Committee for Bárány Society. However, evidence still lacking regarding how individuals affected when compared to non-vestibular migraine. ObjectiveTo evaluate through Dynamic Computerized Posturography, Sensory Organization Test (SOT) Motor Control (MCT) subgroups: MethodsNinety women aged between 18 55 years were evaluated, divided by ICHD diagnostic criteria, into two groups: (1) (GM); (2) (GMV). Posturography exam was performed EquiTest - NeuroCom® software equipment, using variables SOT MCT. Clinical characteristics migraine, symptoms number falls last year also evaluated. For statistical analysis, mean standard deviation used comparison groups, considering significance α = 0.05. groups on final score MCT latency during each test conditions multivariate analysis variance (MANOVA). ResultsThe GM had highest composite (M=74.0±9.7; MV=68.1±8.8; p=0.004), visual (M=79.5±17, 9; MV=70.8±16.5); p=0.01] (M=64.4±14.1; MV=54.4±14.4; p=0.02) than GMV. In addition, all patients GMV reported while GM, only 48.7% (p<0.001). (To see complete abstract, please, check out PDF).

vestibular function in patients with vestibular migraine
background and aim: vestibular migraine is a type of migraine that causes vertigo, dizziness, and imbalance in addition to typical migraine symptoms. in this study, we aimed to investigate vestibular system in these patients by videonystagmography (vng), electrocochleography (ecochg), and vestibular evoked myogenic potential (vemp) testing. methods: this empirical study was conducted on 10 pati...
متن کاملOral magnesium load test in patients with migraine.
OBJECTIVE To determine whether migraineurs may have a systemic deficiency of magnesium. BACKGROUND Magnesium deficiency has been shown to play a potential role in the pathogenesis of migraine, but there are no data on total body magnesium status in migraineurs. METHODS An oral magnesium load test was performed by giving 3000 mg of magnesium lactate during a 24-hour interictal period to 20 p...
متن کاملClinical Manifestation and Prognosis of Vestibular Migraine According to the Vestibular Function Test Results
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES ACCORDING TO PREVIOUS REPORTS, PATIENTS WITH VESTIBULAR MIGRAINE (VM) DISPLAY VARIABLE RESULTS FROM VESTIBULAR FUNCTION TESTS (VFT): central, peripheral, or normal. The aim of this study was to classify the VM patients into the three groups according to interictal VFT findings (central, peripheral or normal) and to clarify the relationship between VFT results and the c...
